34) Milke Surfet Water. Take 4 gallons of Ale & pound of Angelica well pickd from the Stalks, a pound of Anysseeds a pound of Liquorish one nutmegg 2 races of ginger, some Cenamon Cloves & graines beat them together & lett them Steep in the Ale the night before you distill it. To make hot popye water. Take a pound of Popppyes & put them into 2 quarts of Aqua vitae, & Let the glass in the Sun till the Leaves be white, then Strane it and put the aqua vitae into the glass again, put into it half a pound of Sugar, half an ounce of Liquorice Scraped & Sliced, half an ounce of Anysseeds bruised, a quarter of a pound of raisons of the Sun Stoned a quarter of a pound of figgs Sliced & 2 nutmeggs let this Stand in the Sun ten dayes & So use it
