37) An other Excellent water. Take green Wallnuts half a hundred, black Cherreys three handfulls, Stamp them and mingle them all together Soe distill them in a Cold Still it is good for all manner of Infections & - malignant destemper. Doctor Stevens Water. Take a Gallon of Gascon wine Read, take Ginger Gallen gall (i.e. gallengal) Cloves Cenamon nutmeggs grains - Anys Seeds of each dram fenell sedds Caraway Seeds of each a dram, take Sage mint read Roses thime pellitorie rosemarie wild-time Camomill Lavanders, of each of these one handfull Chop the herbs, & beate the Spices, and put them into the wine, and let them Stand 2 houres stirring them often, then Still it in a Linbeck & keep the first water, by it selfe And the Second by it Selfe, Sun it in Summer this water is good against inward Cold, & helpeth those women that are baren to conceive, It is good for worms, & the tooth ack. It helpeth the Stomack & the cold dropsie the stone in the bladder & [veins?], it helpeth Short & [Stincking?] breath, & makes one looke young, It helped doctor Stevens & the Arch Bisshop of Cantrebury long alive
