Doe it within ye Chimney, for it will give an ill Savour, and Soe let it Stand bubbling and boyling Some 3 houres you may know when it is enough by its growing drye & hardning like Stone, then take it of ye fire & when it is cold breake ye pan and bate it in a morter to fine powder. be sure to put fire into the morter and Scoure it clean before you put it to any use for food. To a gallon of water put 2 Spoonfulls of this powder in this manner, put yr water in a Brass Kettle cleane Scoured & make it boyle then take it of the fire, and immediately scatter in yr powder and the water will bubble up like a Spring, it must be Standing water in a pool or running water in a River yt wch is held the best, you must Scoure yr Kettle with hot ashes before you use it for other porposes, becase the ingredients and (i.e. are) unsafe to come into the Stomack. you must take of your water every morning or after (noon?), being warmed dep a Linnen Cloth therin & hold it over the Sore fall into the other water againe, but fall to waste repeate it thus often by dripping upon the Sore then you may lay
