April 11, 1944 New Guinea [54 Gen. Hosp. APO 928] P.S. We sleep on army cots Dear Helen: Your letter dated Feb 26 reached me yesterday! And look where I am! To top all news is the fact that Fran Gwinger is here with me and Jeanie McCutcheon and Jean Hiver. Am thrilled that you are with Lynn Anderson. She is one of my very special favorites. Tell her about the above girls as we all went to "Basic" together & give her our best. You don't mention where you are so I assume England by your A.P.O. It is pretty rugged going here but we all love it. We lived in flooded tents (it rains constantly) until our thatched huts were built. Huts are relative luxury!
