Good Tea Cakes. Mrs. W. Nyes 1 cup Butter - 3 of sugar - 3 eggs - 1 of milk 4 of sifted flour - 1 teaspoon pearlash - very good with fruit Jenny Lind Cakes Me. 3 Coffee cups flour - 1 piece butter as large as an egg - 3 eggs - 1 cup milk - 1/2 of sugar 2 teaspoons C. tartar in the flour. 1 of soda dissolved in the milk. To be baked in muffin rings & be eaten hot for tea. Spanish toast. abbie Nye 4 eggs well beaten to nearly 1 qt milk add salt - then take Bakers bread, cut in slices and soak well in the butter and eggs and fry in butter.
