Puff paste. Mrs R 10 oz. flour sifted - 8 oz butter washed take our a tablespoon of Butter & replace with Lard, mix the Lard well with half the Flour - mix with Ice water then roll it & put your Butter in, in pieces 5 Lbs Flour Mrs R. 3 1/2 Lbs Butter makes pies. again. Mary Marsh's 1 Lb flour, 1 Lb butter wash the butter in cold water mix 1/2 the butter in the flour take flour extra to roll it out having the butter very cold. again. Mrs. Coombs 1 Lb flour, 6 oz butter, 5 of lard - mix the lard with the flour, with as little ice water as possible warm the butter and roll it all in - this is for 4 pies.
