Peaches. Strange The same as the last receipt of quinces only the peaches & sugar are boiled together. Piperidge. "Barberry". But the Barberries as cheap as possible take them home repairing instantly to the kitchen & there pick them over rejecting all stems & bad ones - then wash them in clean water without soap - take out the Preserve Kettle wipe it out nicely but do not use your apron or dress. - put the Kettle on the fire, put in the Berries one at a time or otherwise at your "judgement" - pour in water to cover the Berries - being sure of good well water & that it is clean. The Berries should have been weighted I am sorry to say before putting in the kettle. - then weigh the same quantity of sugar - or if you prefer use half Molasses & half sugar. - calling "a pint a pound the world around" Put the Kettle on the fire - and Boil the mixture until done, then
