Tomato. continued Clara Gibbs Wash & chop fine 1 peck Green tomatoes put in a sieve and let stand 6 hours. Chop fine 6 onions & 6 bell peppers - 1 of mace - 1 of cinnamon - 1 of cloves - 2 tablespoons salt & add to Tomatoes - pack in a jar & cover with cold vinegar. Spiced Cherries Elsies friend 4 pounds sugar - 5 of cherries - 1/2 oz cloves, nutmeg, & cinnamon 1/2 pt vinegar - boil 1 hour - put in the vinegar 15 minutes before done Picklelilly Mrs Case. Cut 1 peck of Green Tomatoes overnight salt them, turn off the water, in the morning - slice 9 large Onions, 1/4 Lb Mustard seed, 2 oz Cloves, 2 of allspice, 2 of Cinnamon, 1 tablespoon Mustard 1 dry Red peppers, - cover with Vinegar and boil till soft.
