Rub the lard into the flour, add the baking powder & sugar. Beat the egg & add the milk to it. Mix the whole into a very stiff paste. Bake twenty minutes in a very hot oven. German Sauce 2 yokes egg 1 glass sherry 1 desert spoonful fine sugar. Put it into a saucepan over the fire & whisk it till ready.
