Round Cake 10 oz fine flour 1/2 lb fresh butter 1/2 lb sifted sugar, 3 oz sultana raisins 3 oz currants 2 oz candied peel grated ring of lemon & 4 eggs Dry the flour & sift it Beat the butter to a cream with the hand then add a tablespoonful of flour & of sugar & 1 egg & go on adding till they are all used beating it well all the time Add the fruit & lemon ring & flour it into a tin lined with buttered paper Bake in a moderate oven two hours.
