Scald milk - stir in sugar, salt, shortening. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in 2 cups flour. Beat till smooth Grate cheese coarsely over batter Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water. Stir into mixture. Stir in 1 cup water. Stir till smooth. Add 4 cup flour, mix Sprinkle rest of the flour on board and knead in. Knead till smooth and elastic 10 to 20 minutes. Place in greased bowl Cover - let rise - double - 40 to 60 minutes Knead down. Form into loaves Bake at 400 degrees until done Anadama Bread 1/2 cup corn meal 3 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoon shortening 2 cup boiling water 1/2 cup molasses 2 yeast cakes Flour - about 6 cups Combine first 4 and pour boiling water over them. Let cool to lukewarm Sprinkle yeast over and stir till well blended. Add flour, knead - cover, let rise. Put in bread pans: rise cook 375 degrees 45 to 60 minutes
