June 4, 1945 Naples, Italy Dear Dad & Mom: Got paid this morning so will send home these money orders. Think I'd rather have it at home than be carrying it around with me. It's hot as blazes this morning kind of a muggy heat which we didnt have back at camp and Im sweating as I write this letter. Bought an airmail envelope at the post office this morning, which really is an old timer. Havent seen one of those old time centers for a long time guess it's okay but looks as tho anyone could manufacture them. Went to Solfatarra day before yesterday, a small active volcano which resembles one of the boiling mud pots in the geyser basin at Yellowstone Park. The
