Saving...
June 22, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: Another lazy day, setting around writing letters, reading, playing cards and watching it rain. Sure glad we arent living in our tents for Im sure ours would have leaked gallons the [tufa block?] sidewalks would have melted too for they are very soft stone. No mail again but one thing I know, I'll get them sooner or later for I've got a mighty good correspondant on the other end of the line. Think it is due to the post office here on the base for as we are newcomers they havent us straightened out yet. Cant kick on the treatment we've had so far, no one has bothered us but everyone is getting restless & jumpy with the waiting. Thought a lay off from work might be welcomed but find it's no good. Would wash a few clothes if I thought they would get dry but will wait
