Christmas morning and wrote all about our coming here so I won't write about it this time. You will see by my lead pencil mark that we are short of ink. Byron tiped the ink over and we can't get any more till we go to Alexandria then we can get some. We had a very good time here. Merry christmas we had beef 3 times fresh beef and we had nothing to do. We went up and see fort Worth it is a grand sight They have 2 guns there that will shoot 7 miles. There was a party of rebels out on a forag expadition and they saw them from this fort. They were about 5 miles off and they fired at them from this fort and made them leave the forage and they went and got it and the rebels
