he says they have not been payed [sic. paid] yet and the boys feel pretty sore. They can grumbel [sic. grumble] when they don't get payed [sic. paid] off only once. Their Reg. is very sickly. We drew soft bread yestday [sic. yesterday] for the first time in 19 month and we have drew potatoes 3 times since we come here for the first time since we left camp California. Yestday [sic. Yesterday] there was a force of ours sent up the river about 18 miles to destroy a bridge that the rebels had built to make a cavalry raid on I guess but they got stoped [sic. stopped] short but this is all I can write this time so I will close from your son C A G
