Falmouth VA. Sunday Apr. 12, 1863 Dear father as I have a few lesure [sic. leisure] moments I will improve them in writeing [sic. writing] to you. I am well and hope this may find you the same. Lewis & all the rest from our place are well. I got a letter from Alonzo the 10th for the first time since I left the Hospital. He is well and at Murfreesboro. He thinks they can hold their position against all the rebs that can be pitched on. He says they are pretty strongly fortified. I will send his letter to you so you can read it. We are in our old camp yet and no signs of moveing [sic. moving] very soon
