We have drill and inspection & review every day. Most the 10th we were mustered for to put out our strength and all the rest of the army the same. I expect we will be filled up with concripts [sic. conscripts] if there is any coffee heads among then they will sufer [sic. suffer] I swear We are having [sic. having] very dry weather here now and middling warm the roads are getting hard and dry. I got a letter from Samuel and Emma last night. They are all well. We expect to get payed [sic. paid] this week. They will have to pay us pretty soon or we will have 6 month due us. Our captain has not got back yet. This is all I can think of at present so good by from your son C A G
