Bloomfield Va .July 21st 1863 Dear father as we are not on the march to day I will write a few lines to you. I am well and hope this may find you the same. I received a letter from you on the [illegible] of the 26th of June. The first one I have got in a long time. I haven't had time to answer it before untill [sic. until] Now. We are camped nere [sic. near] the small town of Bloomfield Va about half way betwixt Snickers Gap & Ashby Gap.
