You know, it is proverbial that the way to keep a soldier contented is to keep his "tummy" full. Mine is, so I begin to write to you in a state of bestial comfort such as I have not often known for many days. It is not all because of the food. Last night I slept in a house in a soft bed; and all day today I have been able to keep warm - a luxurious experience. Soon after I finished my last letter, our little group piled baggage in a truck, drove to the docks and got trunks and bedding rolls, and went to a railway station. We then had several hours in which to see the city. I spent it strolling and at dinner with the crowd. About 9:30 in the evening we boarded a private train and left. Three of us had a first class compartment, and might have
