#4 2/4/18 My Nice O'l Hubby,- This has been one day when you have seemed very near to me - nearer, in fact, than when you were in Washington. I don't account for this at all, but it is the case. All day I have heard your voice and felt the touch of your lips. It hasn't made me lonely for you; only gloriously happy that you are mine and I am yours and we both are Uncle Sam's. I want you, of course. That is only natural. I want you every minute and if I think about it too much, it is not easy to see why I haven't a right to you just now. So I just live from one day to the next, always hoping that peace and the resulting happiness will some come for everybody. I am very optimistic, Conger. I have always been. And I haven't the slightest fear or worry. If we all do our parts everything will come out right: It has to!
