I was remarking to Arthur this afternoon that I have been here just long enough to be no longer dominated by the novelty of things and to begin to wish for things that we have back home and can't have here - like baked potatoes, and ice cream sodas, and your beloved coca colas. I have outgrown the habit of getting homesick, but I do get longings for things that are very troublesome. I wish I could picture for you the scene that is before me now. At an adjoining table three French lieutenants. To my right the cashier's desk with a good-looking young woman behind it. She wears a wedding ring and mourning which I suppose tells the story of a tragedy. At the next row
