Numero Twelve February 10, 1918. My very dearest, - This has been my best day in France because it brought me a letter from you and so brought you closer than you have been for what seems ages. I send you kisses in profusion as souvenirs of the happiness of to-day. It was your letter of January 18, the one you started to send to New York and then decided to send across. Only three weeks from the time you sent it until I got it is not bad time. You mention others as having preceded it. Vincent, whoever he is, surely must has queered the letter he put his initials on - if he sent it at all. But
