A month ago today I left Washington. Two months ago yesterday I left Nevada. Quel[lesperois?] More wonderful experiences have happened to me in them than in all my life before. In dull times I used to wish I could get a few thrills into life. My wish has been fulfilled. One thrill has followed another in constant succession, and one new emotional surge has broken upon another. I've been in a psychological whirl; I don't know myself any more. I can't comprehend everything - understand and visualize and analyze. There was a time when I could feel like master of my fate. Lord, I can't now. I feel like a bubble in a cyclone. If I ever get my head again I'll try to put that to words and you can put it to music. Through it all there is one feeling that exerts constant influence. It is too big for me to understand. It is always delighting, refreshing, ennobling. It makes me conscious of the great good fortune of living.
