I am wondering what became of numbers two and three. Perhaps they may come yet -- I hope so. The next time I hear from you should tell me whether or not you have heard from me, and that will be another load off my mind because I can't bear to think of my Sweetheart 'way off a thousand miles from no where with no word from home. Dearest, I'm going to ask you to do something for me and then we'll consider the affair settled. I am going to ask you to do away with the "blue devils" and "green devils" you wrote about. I believe you know me well enough to understand that I'd never have married you unless I had been sure.
