Forty-five April 4, 1918. Dearest Sweetheart,- Illustrating what astounding will power I have there are two of your letters lying before me - unopened! Three came yesterday. I held off until I had lumbered into bed. Then I read the eldest. Tonight I'm going to get acquainted with the second. I find this procedure excellent to keep me contented. If I read a whole bunch of letters at once I have a grand good time and then I have no new treasures to look forward to except those indefinite ones to come from the next mail, the time of arrival of which I can never tell.
