Honey, things happen over here that "get" me. And I am not the only one. The correspondents came back last evening from seeing the ceremony in which one of our regiments was decorated for its successful fight against the Huns some three weeks ago. Besides the decoration for the colors there were 116 croix de guerre for individuals who had fought with valor exceptional. A good many of the men honored were represented by blank spaces in the ranks. Some had paid the full price of patriotism, some were in hospitals. The fellows say the decorating of the colors and the review, with the guns booming in the distance on the battle line an accompaniment to the music of the band was one of the most moving scenes they had ever viewed.
