Big Bill's wife got me out of bed this morn to get your address for Bill. I got his too: __ a. Peterson, APO 662% Postmaster New Orleans, LA. That is new and he said he thought maybe he could find you if he had the address. Mrs. Bill wondered if he was trying to tell her he was going to Europe. He is still a civilian employee of the U.S. Engineers, and she said his incoming mail is censored just as closely as that which he sends out. I understand from the boys that Lottie is out of the running and if he does any writing home it is to the Mrs. More cold dark weather. When summer does come it will have to be with a big bang for we are behind the season now. I've noticed on my trip to Davenport last Mon, to Iowa City Thurs, and to Des Moines Fri that corn is small if up at all, water in some fields, and the places where corn is up, there are plenty of weeds. I'm quite a gad-a-bout these days, don't you think? But I can't hold a candle to the miles you have traveled. What do you want to do in the post-war world? What do you want me to do then? Does it seem foolish to ask such questions, or have you had time to think out a lot of ideas? Whatever you want to do, I want for you to tell me and I want to help you in whatever you plan. Help and guide me to be always a good wife to you so I'll really be a help-mate. Love to my husband, Laura
