817-19 St S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa August 8, 1945 Dearest, Today at the office we have been writing 8-8. Now if eight ate at eight on 8-8 we would have a complete picture, would we not! 8-8 won't ever be forgotten by many people. I've been so flighty in my attention since the broadcast of Russia's declaration of war on Japan. Hitler never troubled himself to make any declarations of war. The Allies as so civilized that even at this date they serve notice! So much history is happening in our lifetime we can't begin to get it thought out. If my writing is crooked, it is no wonder, as Im balancing it
