U.S. Infantry Camp Croft, S.C. 7/16/42 Dearest. Got your letter this evening it went to J.B. first I got the one you mailed after the partly one it may come along later we are doing a lot of drilling about 3 hours a day at the most we get a lot of instruction on a lot of diff. things I will make a list of stuff that I will need later every thing is too expensive here, at J.B. it was cheap. Jordon sure has a tough time of it. I dont feel so bad about it, some of the fellows here kids, little & big. Some of the meals are just great they seem to have more at nite you can get a second portion
