Wash onions but do not peel. Put in pan, cover with boiling water and add 1/2 tsp. salt. Simmer for 1/2 hr., drain, and dry. Remove outside skin and scoop out center of onions, being careful not to break the shell. Mix rice, almonds, pecans, salt and pepper stuff with this. Put in buttered baking dish brush with melted butter and bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F) 1/2 hour.
