Sponge Cake from the Delineator. 6 eggs, the weight of 5 in sugar - weight of 3 in flour Beat the yolks until light - gradually add the sugar, then beat the whites to a stiff, dry froth, add to the yolks & sugar - stirring gently until well blended, sift 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking-powder & the flour with, & gradually add to the eggs, stirring only long enough to mix thoroughly, add 1 table spoon extract lemon & bake for 40 minutes in two well oiled tins of moderate size. This recipe will never fail if exactly followed. Chocolate from the Delineator. Grate 2 squares of chocolate, place in a graniteware pan with 3 table spoons water, beat slowly until the chocolate is melted to a thick liquid. Place 1 qt of milk in a double boiler or stew pan set in another pan containing boiling water; when it is boiling add the melted chocolate stir until it is thoroughly dissolved, add 3 table-spoons sugar, & whip with a Dover egg beater until the chocolate is light, & frothy - A spoonful of sweetened whipped cream placed
