Sunshine Cake Mrs Koch. Whites 11 eggs, yolks of 6, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar measured after sifting several times, 1 cup flour measured after sifting, heaping full, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, (1/2 teaspoon soda). Beat whites to a stiff froth, slowly beat in the sugar, beat yolks & add finally add flour & flavor with 1 teaspoon full of vanilla. Mix well & bake 50 minutes in slow oven, do not grease pan, but flour it well. Washington Cake. Mrs Koch. 1 cup sugar, butter size of an egg, 3 eggs, 1/2 cup sweet milk, 1 cup flour quite full, 1 teaspoon baking powder, flavor with vanilla. Makes two layers. Custard Filling. 1 cup sweet milk, yolk of 1 egg, heaping teaspoon corn starch, 2 teaspoons sugar 1 of vanilla; when cool spread between layers, beat white of egg with 2 teaspoons sugar for top.
