Breakfast Cakes. Mrs. Matson 1 cup sour milk 1 egg 2/3 tea spoon soda - equal quantities of graham + wheat flour, until quite a stiff batter. Drop cakes 3 eggs - small piece of butter 1 cup sour milk 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tea spoon soda - thicken with flour + bake in small cups. Rye Drop Cakes. 2 cups rye flour 1 cup flour 2 cups milk - sour is the best 1 tea spoon soda 2 eggs - a little salt, bake in small tins. Graham Cakes. 1 cup milk 1 egg 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tea spoon cream Tartar 1/2 tea spoon soda. Green Corn Cake Sarah Darling. 1 pint grated corn 3 table spoons milk 1/2 tea cup melted butter 1 egg - salt - pepper - 1 cup flour. Drop this mixture upon a griddle by the spoonful + fry 8 or 10 minutes.
