Corn Griddle Cakes. 1 quart sweet milk, 2 eggs, small piece of butter, corn meal and flour equal quantities -- a little salt 2 teaspoons cream tartar, 1/2 teaspoon soda. Fritters. Mrs. Matson. 1 pint milk, 1/2 tea cup sour milk, 2 eggs, bit of salt. Even tea spoon soda. Make thick enough to drip from spoon. If sweet milk is used, add 1 even spoon cream tartar, 1/2 even spoon soda. If they [soak?] fat much -- add a little more flour. Diet Bread. 1 pound sugar, 1 pound flour, 8 eggs, nutmeg &c. to taste. Soda Biscuit. 2 quarts flour, 3 teaspoons soda, 6 teaspoons cream tartar. Butter size of 2 eggs rubbed in 4 cups milk
