Number Cake 1 tea spoonful butter 2 tea spoonful sugar 3 tea spoonful flour 4 eggs, nutmeg & brandy. Soda Cake No.1. 1 cup milk 1 cup sugar 1 pint flour 3 tablespoons butter 3 teaspoons cream tartar 1 teaspoon soda. Soda Cake No. 2. 1 cup sugar 1 cup flour 3 eggs 1 teaspoon soda 2/3 teaspoon cream tartar - stir them well together & bake 20 minutes. Soda Cake No.3. 1 cup flour 1 cup sugar 1 table spoon melted butter 3 table spoons new milk 2 eggs 1/2 tea spoon cream tartar 1/2 tea spoon soda Soda Cake No.4. 2 tea cups sweet cream 4 eggs a little salt 1 teaspoon soda 2 teaspoon cream tartar & stir to the consistency of batter cakes. Makes good jelly cake also.
