Enfield cake 1 lb. flour 1/2 lb. butter 1/2 lb. sugar 4 eggs. French Loaf No. 7. 1 lb. sugar 1 lb. flour 1/2 lb. butter 1/2 lb. raisins 8 eggs 1/2 lemon, the same of nutmeg. Icing for Cake. 2 lbs. of double refined sugar beat & sift it through a sieve - put into it a spoonful of fine starch & a penny worth of gum arabic - beat them all well together - take the whites of 4 or 5 eggs beat them well add spoonful of rosewater also of lemon juice beat them with your eggs & put a little with your sugar till you wet it then beat till your cake is baked - put it on with a knife. Cymbals. 2 lbs flour 1/2 lb. sugar 1/2 lb. butter 6 eggs little rosewater & spice. Helen's Doughnuts. No. 3. 1 & 1/2 cups sugar 1/2 cup sweet milk 3 eggs 1 large spoon butter 2 teaspoon cream tartar 1 teaspoon soda. spice to your taste.
