Ammonia For washing paint 1 tablespoonful of ammonia 1 quart moderately hot water - dip in a flannel cloth & wipe the woodwork. For removing grease use ammonia nearly pure - then lay on white blotting paper over the spot & iron lightly. For cleaning hair brushes 1 teaspoon of ammonia to one pint hot water - rinse in cold water & dry in a hot place. For washing laces, 12 drops to 1 pint hot suds. For houseplants put a few drops in a pint of water. A few drops on a cloth, will cleanse glass quickly and well. To take oil or grease out of carpets or woolen stuff - apply dry buckwheat plentifully & faithfully. Never put any water or liquid to it.
