wed afternoon [Jul 23 1942 Hi Slim Was glad to get your letter this morning & will try & ans. Every thing is about the same as when you left. refinancer is as hard to get along with as ever if not worse & maby with you gone it is hard to get a quick one. Lottie call up Dutch yesterday & said she had gotten a letter from big Bill & so he is still alive. There is a H-- of a draw leaving this wk for JB & Al Leclese is down town today taking his ex for a trip to DM I hear Aug 3 & he must of gotton about the same deal that you did as they put him in A1 which seems a little funny after being married as long as he has & having two children but I hear that
