July 7th 1864 Thursday morning at 2 A.M. we got orders for the boys of the 47th Ind. and the 24th and 28th. Iowa to report to their Regements until called for at 5 A.M. in the morning we did not get any rest from 2 to 5 in the morning at which time we was all called up to be ready to go with out respective Regements.
