[page]44.[/page] It is found in the United States and Europe, and owing to its hardy nature we may infer that it is not a stranger to other parts of the world which afford conditions suited to its growth. It has heretofore been known under the following names- Marchantia conica - L, Conocephalus vulgaris - Bisch., and more commonly, Fegetella conica.
