Yesterday I received a dignified little note from Clyde Stephens of the music dep't. at Cae, saying that as the teacher already announced had not full time, it would be me- advisable at present to engage [we?], etc, etc. Much as to say "Madame, if we find we can use you later, you are supposed to drop dead of pleasure. From what I've found out, Clyde hasn't had as much preparation as I've had, and I think it's as well the way things turned out because I'm not used to taking orders from anyone in my work. I know there'd be a fight if I found I had to work along lives I didn't approve of because Fichtel and I had different methods. After a year of fighting, we both used my way. It's really a good way. I'd like to show Clyde a few
