She is all over the house from cellar to garret with her nose poked into all sorts of things that are not for the public eye. I suppose it is simply the spirit of youth and as such must not be too forcibly restrained, but she's every bit as bad as a boy. (Oh! Ten thousand pardons!!) Let's change the subject quick! I just finished baking a Washington Pie, but a real, sure nuff pie is out of the question except on rare occasions. Sunday night I'll make a butter-scotch pie for Malen, but let me inform you that our wheatless, meatless, eatless boys make us gasp at the menu you so often write about. Martine must be a jewel. My!
