WILLIE STEVENSON GLANTON, inducted in 1986, soon after went on a work-study mission to Russia and China with a 22-member group of the National Federal Bar Association. Glanton has served as president of the Iowa Federal Bar Association and on the Committee on Women and Minorities -- Iowa Bar Association. She has served on the board of directors for the Des Moines General Hospital , Elsie Mason Manor and Ligutti Tower Housing, Golden Circle Incubator, National Conference of Christians and Jews - Iowa and Mid-City Vision Committee. She is on the Board of Trustees for the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences. Glanton is also on the President's Commission on Student Diversity, Drake University; Executive Council of the Boy Scouts of America-- Mid Iowa Council; and Greater Des Moines Charter Commission. Glanton received the Young Women's Resource Center Visionary Woman Award in 1991; the Judge Luther T. Glanton Community Service Award for Meritorious Service to the Community at Large, given by Blacks in Government in 1992; and the Legacy Celebration Award from Links, Inc. in 1993. MARY A. GREFE inducted in 1980, is president of LEAD Associated, Ltd. of Des Moines, a consulting firm devoted to improving the quality of leadership in individuals and organizations. She serves on the board of directors of Boatmen's Bank of Iowa and Morningside College (as a trustee); as chairperson of the Iowa Peace Institute ; Board of Governors of UNA/USA; and member of the National Commission for Drake University. Grefe was an official delegate to the United Nations World Conference on Women in Nairobi, Kenya in 1985. EDNA M. GRIFFIN, inducted in 1985, received the Community Service Award from Blacks in Government in 1993. VIRGINIA HARPER, inducted in 1992, continues as president of the Fort Madison Branch of the NAACP and is actively involved in the Fory Madison School District's Human Equity Committee. HELEN LEBARON HILTON, was inducted n 1983. Prior to her death in August 1993, the south wing of the Home Economics Building at Iowa State University was named for Hilton. She was also presented with the first Ames League of Women Voters Carrie Chapman Catt Award, and the College of Family Consumer Sciences honored her as its first honorary alumna. 48/Iowa Women's Hall of Fame.
