The thing that ruined me was this: Ernest was giving a long winded account of how you'd sit reading a paper and I'd sit sewing, and you'd be content to look up over the paper once in a while and know I was there. I was furious, and I yelped, "Well it will be some relief to know he doesn't sit and chatter like a chipmunk the way you folks do" -- and then it broke loose! They did everything under the sun to me and talked about what they would do when you return. Honey, if it be at all possible, let me meet you somewhere and get all used to you again before they get hold of us, will you? I'm ashamed to ask you this, but you'll understand, won't you? And I believe I'll die if they do all the things they threaten unless I'm all over being --- oh goodnight! You know without being told. They have simply devil me to bits, but don't mention the fact that I've told you. When you come home, if you let what they say fuss you, I'll die, but
