Corralline large, massive, coral-lites perismatic; calyces having from five to nine sides, or circular depending upon their being crowded or not, irregular, deep. As the center of each calyx is a monticule with its summit terminated by a compressed columella. Septa, eighteen to forty-eight in number. This coral is one of the most widely distributed fossils of the lower carboniferous series Position and Locality, Saint Louis limestone in southeastern Iowa. Reference Halls geol of Iowa U of I.
