27. Shell small, oval, sub-globose, longer than broad, about in the ratio of seven to five, length three-eights to five-eights of an inch; greatest width anterior to the middle. Dorsal valve convex, mesial fold when present is indistinct, no beak on this valve. Ventral valve about equally convex with dorsal valve, sinus shallow; length of sinus about one half the length of the valve; beak projecting, incurved; foramen in extremity of beak oval or subcircular. Shell marked by lines of growth and by extremely fine [illegible]. [illegible] anteriorly. Geological position and localities same as Rhynchonella ottumwa. References: Geol. of Indiana 1882.
