[underlined][underlined][underlined][underlined][underlined]PROTOZOA.[/underlined][/underlined][/underlined][/underlined][/underlined] This sub-kingdom includes one-celled protoplasmic organisms in which the organs and tissues are not differentiated. They vary in size from microscopic individuals to the size of a grain of whet. They live in water, take nourishment either at any part of the organism or at a definite mouth, and cast off refuse matter at any point or at a definite anal opening. The organism usually contains one or more nuclei. The animal moves about and obtains food by means of pseudopodia and cilia. The species is propagated by budding.
