Discina nitida Meek and Worthen, 1868: Geol. Sur. Ill., Vol. V., p. 572. Shell small, outline circular. Dorsal valve, convex, conical, with apex eccentric. Ventral valve a depressed cone with apex extending into cavity of dorsal valve. Diameter of shell about one-fourth inch thickness about one eighth of an inch. Surface marked by concentric striae. Geol. Pos. and Localities as in Lingula mytiloides. Reference.-- Geology of Illinois Vol. V., in which it is referred to as Discina nitida and Orbicula instead of Orbiculoidea is given as a [?syno-nync?].
