[page]82.[/page] Productus In this genus of the Productidae, the pedicle is either absent or is a functionless rudiment; the shell, probably, being anchored by the spines of the ventral surface. The shell is concavo-convex, rarely plano-convex, the cardinal areas, teeth, and sockets if not entirely absent are mere rudiments.
