Mon Jan 5 A nice warm day I washed Lentha & I was all alone most all day mother went to tea party to s Grenely Tues Jan 6 a nice warm day we butchered 2 hogs & one beefe Fred helped butcher Lizz little boys Lana & children was here all day Wed Jan 7 I scrubed helped make sausage father & mother cut up & salted down the meat. The snow is almost gone so wagons are run instead of sleighs Th Jan 8 nice warm day I ironed baked 2 raspberry pies mother fryed out the lard I had a bad headache this after noon we had company Sarah Kohler & Lena Hayler was here this afternoon Will took them home, Little Lizzie got home sick & went home this eve Jim went home with her.
